Are Americans inherently lazy and non-productive?
Neal Boortz, Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity have been selling the American public on this theory (and a lot have been buying it) by saying that if jobless benefits were extended it would say to those without jobs that its ok to be non-productive. This suggests that in the greatest nation in the world (as they put it) Americans would have no incentive to work. George Washington Carver (a black man) received very little for his many inventions and processes. All he needed was a small bit of advice from a woman who once gave him shelter..."you must learn all you can and give your learning back to the world." So I ask, do the many, many Americans who are without jobs really want to just sit and do nothing?
