Decisions I don't understand-How to get there from here?

I don't want to answer this wrong now, but I think her train of thought was that in all honesty she didn't want to go out with you but what she said was said so that she wouldn't hurt your feelings. Then probably the opportunity to date the other guy came up and she didn't want to turn him down. My guess is that she really likes this guy. She accepted cause she likes this guy (and sorry to be honest) and she probably doesn't see you as the kind of guy she'd want to date. Her thinking in asking for your 'blessing' was probably just to settle her own mind. She probably feels bad for turning you down and then jumping into things with this guy so now she is asking you to approve so that she can date this guy without worrying about you.
