Questions about airport security & what items I have to put in the bins?

Hi, tomorrow I'm leaving on an early flight to Hawaii and I'm not checking any bags. I'm only bringing a rolling carry on (for the above compartment on the plane) and a backpack (as my personal item). For electronics, I'm planning on bringing my laptop, my Canon Rebel t1i (A DSLR camera, much bigger than most point-and-shoot cameras) and POSSIBLY my game console if there is room. For the laptop and the game console, I know that I will have to put the actual machines in bins when going through security, but will I have to put the wires for them in bins as well or can I just leave them in my bag? Also, will I have to put my camera in a bin? I know that airport security doesn't make you take cameras out usually but I wasn't sure about mine since it's bigger. I looked on a few airport security websites and couldn't find much about these. Thanks :)
